The large wooden spinning top is spun by tightly winding the cord around the top. Place the top on the ground and then pull the cord quickly away using the wooden handle. The energy the top receives from the cord allows it to spin for a surprisingly long time. This is the ideal toy for a child who likes a challenge.

Made as sustainably as possible from completely natural materials the top comes in an ethically made cotton drawstring bag.
The WHIP: FSC certified Beech wood dowel and sustainable Portuguese cork cord.
The TOP: reclaimed British Beech wood with a brass pin.
FINISH: Plant-based paint & organic, sustainable hemp seed oil.

CE safety certified for ages 3+. Warning: Due to the long cord which poses a danger of strangulation this toy is recommended for ages 3+. Do not allow young children to play unsupervised.

Hi! My name’s Liz Pearson. I’m a designer and woodturner.
I started making wooden toys when my oldest was teething and refused the plastic teethers we had. Instead he demanded my wooden spoons to chomp on. So I made him the same design of rattle/teether I still make today and he absolutely loved it. All 3 of my boys used that same rattle and as they’ve grown we’ve developed new toys together.

I make all of Love HeartWood’s toys in my garden workshop. My ethos is to use only natural, sustainable materials. I believe this is the best and most healthy choice for our children and for the planet.
I’m passionate about offering people an alternative to disposable, plastic toys. Love HeartWood was founded 3 years ago and it’s grown from my passion for turning and my desire to share an appreciation of the handmade item.

I put my experience as a mum, a product designer and a wood turner into every piece I make.
