Hi Im Lizzie, im an Illustrator, designer and maker, and my small business is a fun, colourful and quirky collection of unique cards, gifts and home-ware. All my product feature my own illustrations and patterns, to a variety of themes such as prosecco drinking tropical animals, British woodland foliage and wildlife and Magical fortune telling cats.
Sustainable design is a top priority for my small shop and it has been a key area of development and interest throughout my undergraduate in Design and ongoing masters course in Sustainable Design. I make considered and careful decisions when choosing materials, suppliers and designing my products and packing. So as to reduce my environmental impact.
All my products start with hand drawn illustrations, before being transferred onto my computer to transformed into a colourful digital illustration using a graphic tablet. My extensive card collection features something for all occasions and is all printed and packed by me using recycled card with kraft paper envelopes and cornstarch cellophane. As I print my cards myself it allows me to offer some personalised options on some of my cards to make them extra special. Alongside the cards I offer a variety of wrapping paper designs to create a perfect birthday collection, printed by a local print company onto recyclable paper. My collection of handmade gifts includes tea towels, aprons and cushions, featuring my best funky designs and printed onto organic cotton or linen before I hand make them into the final product.
As an illustrator I am inspired by colour and characters and always want my designs to bring a smile to people’s faces and when I create a new design I usually try to imagine the sort of thing and that animal might get upto when you and me aren’t looking.
