Deco Delights – Lay Flat A5 Notebook

These notebooks are fantastic for everyday use, bringing decoration and sophistication to your notes without being too special to use. Perfect for different journaling styles, meeting or study notes, lettering practice or doodling, these notebooks look the part and are functional without being too heavy or bulky.

The hand drawn art deco inspired motif, with dark teal and golden yellow accents, was inspired by one of my favourite eras for design. Starting in my sketch-book, the motif was digitised, put into a repeat pattern to create understated but striking decoration for various items of stationery.

The cover of this notebook is a 250gsm FSC-approved card, full colour printed with a plain dark teal inside. There are 208 numbered pages in this notebook, all of which are on 100gsm FSC-approved off-white paper. They all have a faint grey dot-grid page with the exception of the front page which is decorated with a monochrome version of the cover – and has a space ready for your name, title, or other key information for the front of a notebook.

The pages have a thread-sewn binding, and a lay-flat spine so can be opened out fully and easily without damaging the cover.

This notebook has been fully designed and printed in the UK, with the printers being a family-run business that specialises in this binding technique and who also ensure sustainability with their processes and are a carbon balanced business.

Each notebook comes wrapped in a recycled paper belly band, and is then further wrapped for postage. Other items in this pattern collection are also available, meaning you can create a fantastic gift set of planet-friendly stationery.

Hi, I’m Rachel! I’m an Oxfordshire based surface pattern designer and stationery addict and I’ve combined these loves into Holchester Designs. My designs showcase my love of colour, nature, a good doodle and of stationery that helps me feel good about what I’m writing and what plans I’m hatching. (No planners with bossy headers or scratchy paper over here!).

In Spring 2020 I relaunched my business (after maternity leave) with a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign to produce a full stationery collection, and since then I have continued to develop and expand my range, working around my family.

Shipping Policy

All orders are processed within 3-5 business days of receiving your order confirmation.

If any changes occur during the processing period you will be notified directly via email.

Once your order has been dispatched you will receive email confirmation. If you do not receive your item within 14 days of receiving the dispatch email notification please contact me via email to hello@holchester.com.

Standard postage for all items is Royal Mail, tracked Second Class and costs are subject to change in line with Royal Mail's own price fluctuations.

All items will be sent in plastic free packaging. In some cases the packaging you receive will have been previously used for other items but I will have determined that it is in good enough condition to be used before wrapping anything.

Damaged Items:
In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please contact me as soon as possible via email to hello@holchester.com with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address cases such as these on an individual basis and will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.

Lost Items:
Items will be considered lost if they have not been delivered within 15 working days of dispatch. This time period is to account for potential delivery delays encountered in the Royal Mail system and for the 10 day qualifying period set out by Royal Mail.

Notification of non-receipt of an item should be made via email to hello@holchester.com and include the order number.

If an item is lost in transit, unless proven otherwise, I will assume the contract is terminated and either provide a refund or dispatch an alternative item. The remedy will be determined on a case by case basis and in discussion with the buyer.

Return Policy

We accept returns up to 14 days after delivery, as long as the item is unused and in its original condition.

The item must be returned and once received, and the condition checked, we will refund the order amount, including the original cost of outgoing postage, to the original buyer.

This refund will be made within 14 days of receipt of the returned items, or within 14 days of the buyer providing evidence that the items has been returned (e.g. proof of postage), whichever is sooner.

The buyer is responsible for the cost of return postage.

Refunds will not be made to individuals that are not the original buyer or to accounts other than where the original payment came through.
