What is UmmPixies?
UmmPixies is where Paula turns her vibrant, colourful patterns into giftable homewares, stationery and accessories.
Fiercely practical, Paula knows the little things matter: strong straps, hanging loops, YKK zips and useful pockets……and the big things too: organic cotton, recyclable packaging, non-polluting dyes.
Paula’s love of bright colour was spotted early when aged 3 she was stunned into silence and stillness (both still rare events) by Matisse’s The Snail
Always keen on adventure she spent a decade travelling the world as an archaeologist. Another decade was spent as a project manager before returning to creating.
UmmPixies(pronounced oom – pixies)comes from the Arabic tradition of naming parents Umm-(mother) or Abu- (father) after their first-born child.
