Blue Hammer Giclée print, part of my Essential Tools series, acknowledges the influence of artist Jim Dine. His dressing gown paintings captivated my youth, fueling my obsession with creating art through fashion.

Immersed in the vibrant Pop Art scene of 60s America, I developed an appreciation for everyday objects and their stories. Each object in my series is a visual diary, aimed at bringing a smile to both myself and hopefully others.

Transitioning to digital art allowed me to keep pace with my numerous creative ideas. I print each image in my studio as giclée prints, using 12 pigment inks on 100% cotton rag paper (310gsm). Every print is carefully packaged by hand, wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, and placed in a strong card sleeve or tube for protection. Whether you prefer the discreet A5 size, an A4, A3 or the larger A2, rest assured that I am involved in every step of the production process.

Blue Hammer Giclée print, part of my Essential Tools series, is a heartfelt acknowledgment to the influential artist Jim Dine. His dressing gown paintings captivated my youth, fuelling my obsession with creating art through fashion. Immersed in the vibrant Pop Art scene of 60s America, I developed an appreciation for everyday objects and their stories, much like Jasper Johns’ beer cans and Claus Oldenberg’s toothpaste tube. I went to art college back in the 1970s, where I received a BA 1st (Hons) in Fine Art before completing an MA at the Royal College of Art in the film school. I then worked in film and video production and finally the education sector before early retirement. The main influences on me, during these early years, were the artists, such as Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and Jim Dine. The New York scene seemed to combine and challenge what art, performance and film could be in a way that has left a permanent mark on my psyche. This cocktail of Pop Art imagery and Abstract Expressionist mark-making seems to be where I feel most comfortable.
