Description
Sensory necklace inspired by Isesjø lake in Scandinavia – UKCA, CE and ASTM-certified
Sensory jewellery is jewellery that is scientifically proven to:
– Increase calmness
– Increase focus, e.g. when on a webinar or to achieve the flow state of working
– Help reduce anxiety
– Safely fidget, pull and chew
– Help to manage sensory overload
Sensory jewellery is by definition wearable, which means your fidget tool will never get lost, and – because your body will know when you’re getting stressed before you consciously notice. Your fingers can start to play with the necklace before you realise you need to, reducing the time it takes to achieve a calmer state.
The necklace is fully safety tested in a UKAS-accredited lab, confirming it is made from food-grade silicone, is BPA and lead free, and completely non-toxic.
They have tested this necklace to all relevant regulatory requirements, including EN71 parts 1, 2 and 3, and have the safety test plan verified by an independent safety compliance consultant. This makes absolutely sure there are no nasty chemicals in the beads, clasp or chain.
We are additionally UKCA, CE and ASTM-certified and are confirmed to meet all safety regulations in the UK, EU/EEA, Canada and the US.
It can be used by individuals from 3 months and up, but is designed to be worn by adults. Sensory jewellery should be fully safety tested, so always make sure your provider is confirmed certified and can show you the test results if you ask! Far too many rely on supplier confirmation, which isn’t always accurate and doesn’t always meet UK requirements if the supplier is abroad.
If you or your child is an oral stimulation seeker, or fidgeter, our necklaces are the perfect way to do so discreetly on the go or at home, while also looking stylish and fashionable.
It weighs 27g, so is lightweight enough to not feel heavy around the neck, important for many users.
The necklace can be easily washed in the sink or in the dishwasher (do not include with other items) and air dries quickly.
The Isesjø necklace is handmade to order in the Foss & Bjørn workshop in East London. It’s inspired by the Isesjø lake in Sarpsborg, Norway. Isesjø lake is only 6km² large, but has a whopping 25km² shoreline, accounting for its many bends and nooks.
There are walking trails around the whole lake, which many locals use frequently – while some of it is private land, the landowners are required by law to keep the trails open for anyone wanting to visit and are not allowed to build on the land (they are allowed to let their livestock roam there, though, so you better watch out for cows, goats and sheep).
The lake is a short 15-minute walk away from the house Foss & Bjørn’s owner grew up in. Her family used to go there for short walks that generally always ended up at the lake beach to eat hot dogs, and (in Winter) drink hot chocolate – both of which had been brought from home in thermoses, the Norwegian way.
In her childhood, there was ice skating near the shore if the ice had frozen solid enough. Grab your own version of Scandinavian hygge and capture the essence of “friluftsliv” in the Isesjø necklace today!
