Julia grew up outside a Kentish village, down a track by some woods surrounded by nature. This experience was then balanced out, after design training at Art College and travels to India, by moving to Hackney, London to work in Fashion and the Arts
Inspirations come from nature, city life, and the memories of her grandparents’ house which was filled with archaeological artefacts, antique textiles and collaged screens.
Dilla supports sustainability in textiles, where possible, and ‘up loving cast-off clothes and furniture and is currently based in a studio at PrintClubLondon, Dalston, London.
