Description
For this star we use the particularly striking shou sugi ban method, originating in 18th century Japan, of preserving wood by charring it with fire, giving it a beautiful dark finish that highlights the wood grain. The centre of the star is then hand painted with a neon pink highlight.
This is a modern, eco-friendly alternative to a door wreath that can be used again and again. It would also be a great addition to a gallery wall or placed on a mantel piece, so you can enjoy it all year round or for Christmas with a twist.
These stars are handmade to order in our workshop in Surrey and are usually dispatched within one week.
Our stars measure 48cm x 48cm and are made from FSC certified sustainably harvested wood. Each includes a hook on the reverse for easy hanging.
