London isn’t just a city to me—it’s my second home, where my artistic journey blossomed during my art college days.
In those vibrant pre-internet times, the iconic red phone boxes were more than landmarks; they were our social lifelines, connecting us all in a world without instant messaging. Exploring Risograph printing opened up new creative avenues.
Enthralled by the outcomes, I felt the prints needed a personal touch—a figure to animate the scenes. That’s when I reached out to Cathi Rae, an inspiring poet, spoken word artist, body positivity model, and a passionate campaigner against ageism in fashion. Thankfully, she embraced the idea, and I adapted her evocative Instagram images to weave into my narrative. I’ve chosen to offer my artwork as ‘one-of-a-kind’ pieces. While giclée prints can be replicated, it doesn’t feel right to label them as an edition or imply there’s a stockpile ready to sell.
The beauty of giclée printing lies in its on-demand nature, allowing you to customise elements like paper stock, border widths, and of course, size to suit your preferences.
My go-to paper is the luxurious Canson Infinity Rag Photographique 310gsm. Its texture and quality bring depth to the prints. Occasionally, I use the 100% Smooth Cotton 300gsm by Fotospeed for its unique feel. Each print is personally signed and crafted up to A2 size (42 x 59.4 cm), with thoughtful borders ranging from 30 to 50 mm.
Slight variations in colour or positioning might occur with each print—this adds to their unique charm. Every piece is handcrafted by me.
From printing to packaging, I handle each step with care. My prints aren’t outsourced to third-party print shops. If you see my signature on a piece, you can be assured it’s been created and packed by my own hands.
